Tacoma Wedding Photogapher

July 25, 2010

We had the privilege of photographing Kari and Derrick’s wedding a few weeks ago, and oh boy, how much fun was that day! :-)

It was a very warm day, and fortunately, we were able to shoot all (ok most) of our formals in the shade of a beautiful tree at their friends house. We also had the benefit of a fully restored, and loud, ’38 Chevy to use in some of our photos.

Kari & Derrick’s ceremony and reception was held at the Tacoma Sportsman Club, in Tacoma, WA. Over the course of the day, it was obvious to us how much this great couple love each other and their friends, and we thank you both for the opportunity and the honor of being your photographer.

Blessings to you both.

Thank You for the Thank You

May 22, 2010

One of the greatest rewards in my life are the “thank you”‘s I get from my customers. And I don’t mean the “thank you for transferring my video tape to DVD”-type of thank you. I mean the “my photographs are so awesome” sort of thank you.

Consider the following we have received:

“I would highly recommend Chris McKenna (and MVS) for anyone who wants to work with a photographer and videographer who is honest and works very hard to accomodate their clients. They have done the photography and videography of my son’s wedding (April, 2009) which also included his engagement pictures on the waterfront in Tacoma and a movie to be played at the wedding of the bride and good and family members. They also helped us put together the most beautiful wedding album I’ve ever seen (and I’m in the wedding business as a florist and see many albums, pictures, etc.).

They also did an on location session of my grandson’s first pictures. They came to the home so the baby could be in his own basinet and surrounded by his own blankets, toys, etc. I thought this was very caring and the pictures are just beautiful. This company is A#1 and I will only use and recommend them to anyone who needs a first class photographer and videographer.”

“You are a fantastic photographer, Chris! The pictures turned out incredible and you guys did a beautiful job of capturing the day! Thank you both for your photographic genius, your support and your friendship!”

~ Jodi & Alden

“I want you two to know how much we love the video you made for us. You also did a fantastic job on our pictures. You’re the best–thanks so much.”

~ Kim & Reese

“Chris and Lynette were great. They are easy to work with and our pictures are more beautiful than I ever could have imagined. They helped us out a lot of our actual wedding day and were respectful of our requests. I would highly recommend Chris McKenna (MVS)”

“Chris is a very professional photographer who was very easy to work with. He was on time for all meetings and was very organized on the day of our wedding. I would recommend him to everyone I know. He has a great customer service attitude and his number one concern is his client’s satisfaction and happiness with his work. We were very pleased with the quality of his work and the time he spent to get the right shots on our big day. We were so glad we decided to go with Chris McKenna (MVS) for our special day. No regrets, only total satisfaction.”

~ Kristine & Andrew (excerpt taken from Pictage)

“We hope you know how much we appreciate all the hard work and dedication you put into our wedding-you worked so hard and genuinely cared about capturing the whole day!

We feel that thank you is not enough. The pictures are gorgeous and the video you did for us makes me cry every time. People at work are always commenting on how good it was (and how many people it brought tears to).

So thank you for adding that special touch!!!”

Do I need to say any more?

Blessings,

Happy Anniversary Jennifer and Jason

May 16, 2010

We want to wish Jennifer and Jason a very happy anniversary.

Monday marks the 1 year anniversary of their wedding-which is in actuality their 2nd anniversary. Confused? Well, Jason is serving our country in the military and was due to be deployed so they got married just before he shipped out. When he returned, about a year later, they got married again-this time with friends and family present.

This ceremony and their reception took place at the Pioneer Park Pavilion in beautiful Puyallup, WA on a gorgeous Sunday afternoon.

We are posting this video here in honor of their first, er second anniversary. Thank you for your trust and honor of being your photographer. We are so happy to hear you are in love with your photos, the album and this video.

God’s blessings,

Chris.

Wedding Planners in Pierce County, WA

TO STRESS OR NOT TO STRESS

Do you have a friend who is getting married, or are you getting married yourself? Have you ever been to a wedding which was chaotic and unorganized-where the wedding party didn’t know where to stand, the food was cold and the DJ stopped playing music leaving “dead air” during dinner? Awkward!?!?!

We have had the honor of documenting so many beautiful weddings over the years, some of which were well organized, others, well, could have used some (OK…a lot) of help. If you are a bride-to-be, my advice to you is to take that extra step to get new and innovative ideas, add a touch of luxury and alleviate the stress from your most beautiful wedding day.

We recently had the pleasure of meeting an amazing wedding planner/coordinator, Tricia Fisk, of Weddings Realized (www.weddingsrealized.com).  Her expertise in providing planning and coordinating services is evident in her personality and knowledge of her profession.  In the years that she has been in the “wedding business”, she has offered couples an opportunity to truly enjoy every aspect of their wedding, from the planning stages to the day of their union.

What many couples don’t realize is that someone needs to be the “go to guy”, especially the day of their wedding.  There are so many details that need to be attended to; delivery of the flowers, DJ, food, cake, making sure all parties needed for photos are in place and ready to smile, dress is flawless, officiant is present, and so many other needs.

Also, many couples don’t know that a wedding planner has great connections to other wedding professionals, and can refer you to an appropriate vendor. Often times a wedding planner can orchestrate and pass along a professional discount on flowers, rentals, venues etc. She can refer you to the best photographers and videographers in the area, where you can be sure that your wedding day is documented perfectly forever.

Couples preparing to be married should be able to concentrate on each other, not the minuscule details that can make or break their wedding day.  Hand these stress makers over to a pro.  I recommend that you call Tricia for a brief consult and see if she is a good fit for you.  Ensure that your wedding day runs smooth and beautiful. Hire a professional wedding planner. It will be so worth your while.

God’s blessings,

Chris.

Kim and Reese: Loving You Forever

December 9, 2009

We have been real busy the last couple of months and have somewhat neglected getting some photos and video online for you to view,  and now we’re trying to catch up…

Attached is a photo montage of photographs that we shot at Kim and Reese’s wedding, which occured on a very rainy and blustery October 17 at the Edgewater Hotel in Seattle, WA (you know-the same one that the Beatles stayed in during their visit to Seattle). We were asked to only photograph some formal family pictures and the ceremony. Nonetheless, we shot some great photographs and wanted to share them with you.

Our congratulations go out to Kim and Reese, and we wish then many happy years together.

Enjoy the video.

Chris.
